Honor and Hextech Crafting Restrictions

If you've been penalized recently for negative behavior, you'll be locked out of earning chests and keys from playing games until you've shown progress toward positive play.

The length of time you're restricted from earning loot is relative to two things:

  • Severity of penalty. You won't earn loot for the duration of your penalty, be it a temporary suspension or a chat restriction.
  • Signs of reform. Once your penalty has ended, you'll continue to be restricted from earning loot and locked out of honor until you're recognized to have made significant progress in amending your past behavior.

Stay focused on solid comms, teamwork, and sportsmanship in your games and you'll be earning chests and keys sooner rather than later.

Reform Period

Once your penalty ends, you'll enter a reform period, during which you'll remain ineligible to earn Hextech Chests and Keys, and your honor progress will be locked. Ending this reform period requires consistent displays of good sportsmanship. Your reform period isn't over after a specific number of games, or after a certain date, but is completely dependent upon your behavior.

Honor Lock

When your Honor is locked, you're unable to progress in the system until you reform and unlock the feature again. The number of levels you lose is based on the severity of your penalty:

  • Two week suspension: Drops your level down to 0 and lock your Honor progress, making your account ineligible for hextech crafting rewards.
  • Chat restrictions: Knocks your Honor level to 1, or 0 if you're already at level 1. Honor progress will be locked, making your account ineligible for hextech crafting rewards.

You'll be notified when your Honor progress is unlocked. Once unlocked, you'll be able to earn Hextech chests again even at Honor level 0. You'll start earning key fragments and other rewards again when you reach Honor level 1.

Philosophy

A good game of League involves three elements: strong individual performance, great teamwork, and stellar sportsmanship. Hextech Crafting is designed to support these elements. You or a premade partner need to achieve an S rank or above to earn a chest, and you must accomplish that in a way that supports positive play. This doesn't mean you need to be an outspoken pillar of the community; contributing quietly to the team while still listening to and providing communication necessary to the game's success is enough.

FAQ

Why am I still ineligible for crafting rewards after my penalty ends?

The reform period lasts longer than the penalty duration. Show consistent improved behavior, and you'll become eligible again in no time.

Why can't you tell me exactly when I'm going to be eligible?

Eligibility is dependent on a consistent display of good sportsmanship, not just "be nice in X number of games or days." Negative behavior during this reform period will cause it to last longer. When the Honor icon in your profile unlocks, you'll be eligible to earn rewards again.

How long does it usually take for someone to be eligible again?

There is no specific timeframe for eligibility, and the length of the reform period may vary on a case by case basis. It all depends on the severity of your punishment, and on your behavior moving forward.
