What is Openbucks?
Openbucks enables players who do not own credit cards or bank accounts to make online purchases with cash. You can do this by purchasing a gift card from one of the retailers associated to Openbucks. This gift card can be used in our store to purchase Riot Points to your own account. For more information, please visit the official Openbucks website.
This payment is only available on the NA server.
What stores are eligible?
The retailers currently associated with Openbucks include:
CVS/Pharmacy ® | Dollar General ® |
** Please note that some retailer options for card redemption may be limited by the country that you are playing from or living in.
We highly recommend that you check for the nearest retailer near your neighborhood on the Openbucks website. At the bottom right hand corner, there will be an option to enter your zip code to find nearby locations.
Note: If you choose to use Openbucks, please make sure to purchase the gift card directly from the 1st party vendor. You can verify vendors by using the location search on the Openbucks website.
Why does it say I do not have enough funds?
There are a few reasons why you may not have enough funds on your card:
- Price points: The price points in our store are based on the USD currency. If you have 10 CAD in your gift card, you may not be able to complete your purchase depending on current conversion rates.
- Exchange rates: Depending on your location, there are cases where you may be charged a conversion fee by Openbucks. As previously mentioned, our store provides bundles for the USD currency, and other currencies used will be converted to USD before the transaction is completed.
- External fees: Our store does not charge any extra fees. If you are purchasing a 5 USD bundle, we will only charge 5 USD -- no more, no less. External fee outside of our control, such as taxes or use fees, may be added to your purchase.
My pin code is a different length! What do I do?
Openbucks sometimes has separate code lengths for digital cards and physical cards. Our store is able to accept the pin code for physical cards, but issues may occur when using digital cards if the pin code length is different than what is requested. We recommend that you contact Openbucks directly to further troubleshoot this issue.
