Sometimes you will need to clear your browser history and cookies in order to resolve certain issues with the League of Legends Store or forum/website logins.
A web browser cache is a mechanism for the temporary storage (caching) of web documents, such as HTML pages and images, to reduce bandwidth usage. A web browser cache stores copies of websites passing through it in order for future requests to be loaded from the cache instead of having to be re downloaded from the web server.
A cookie is a file created by a web browser that is then stored on a computer. These files typically store user-specific information.
A browser's history is a log of sites that you visit.
Chrome
- Click on the Customize and Control Google Chrome button
(top right corner) - Click on History (Ctrl+H)
- Click on Clear Browsing Data...
- Select the data that you want to delete, select the timeframe and confirm the deletion
Firefox
- Click on Tools and select Options (top line)
- Select the Privacy tab
- Click on clear your recent history
- Select the data that you want to delete, select the timeframe and confirm the deletion
Internet Explorer 8+
- Click on the Tools button
(top right corner) - Select Internet Options
- In the General tab, under Browsing History, click on Delete...
- Select the data that you want to delete, select the timeframe and confirm the deletion
Opera
- From the Opera menu, select Settings
- Select Delete Private Data...
- Select the data that you want to delete, select the timeframe and confirm the deletion
Safari
Clear Cookies
- Open Safari
- In the top bar, click on "Safari" and choose "Preferences..."
- At the top of the window, select the "Privacy" tab
- Click on “Manage Website Data…”
- Select “Remove All” and click "Done"
Clear History
- Open Safari
- In the top bar, click on "Safari" and choose "Clear History…"
- Select “all history” (or “today and yesterday”)
- Select Clear History
